Gasshuku
A Gasshuku is an intensive training camp conducted over multiple days. It brings together practitioners for concentrated technical instruction, repetitive drills, and group practice under the guidance of designated instructors.
This Gasshuku will feature guest instruction by JKA World Headquarters Senior Instructor Taniyama Takuya Shihan from Tokyo, Japan.

Rank: JKA-Certified 7th Dan
At the All Japan Karate Championships, he achieved an exceptional record:
5-time Grand Champion
5-time Kumite Champion
4-time Kata Champion
He also reached the pinnacle of the world stage, winning both Individual Kata and Individual Kumite at the Shoto Cup (World Championships), as well as securing victory in Kumite at the National Sports Festival of Japan.
Following his retirement from competition, he has been actively engaged in teaching and promoting karate internationally, instructing at prestigious institutions such as Takushoku University and the National Defense Academy.
Since the mid-1990s, Shiba Sensei has been a direct student of Taniyama Takuya Shihan. He previously served as an instructor at Taniyama Shihan’s dojo in Ikebukuro, Tokyo, before relocating to Oregon, USA.
Since his relocation, Shiba Sensei has continued his training and instruction under the direct technical lineage of Taniyama Shihan, maintaining a continuous connection to JKA Headquarters methodology. He is currently responsible for the operation of his dojo in Oregon, where he upholds JKA technical standards and traditional training principles.
Participation is open to both registered JKA members and non-members. The organizing body may assign participants to training divisions based on rank and technical level.
No prior experience is required; however, all participants should be physically prepared for intensive training.
Registration includes participation in all scheduled training sessions and seminars unless otherwise specified.
Accommodation, meals, and transportation are not included unless explicitly stated.

Participants may also arrange their own accommodations if preferred.
Karate-gi, belt(s), protective gear (if required), water bottle, towel, and personal items. A notebook is optional but recommended.
Training is structured, progressive, and physically demanding, featuring multiple sessions per day.
Yes. Kumite (sparring) will be adjusted based on rank and experience, with an emphasis on safety, control, and proper etiquette.
Full participation is strongly encouraged to maintain training continuity, though rest is permitted as needed.
Note: Anyone wishing to take a Dan or License Examination must attend at least one seminar, be a current JKA member, and obtain a signature from their licensed JKA Head Instructor.

Transfers may be permitted only with prior written approval from the organizer.
Meals are not included unless otherwise specified. Participants are responsible for their own food and hydration.
